Puck news claims that Costner is apparently planning to appear in the final season, but the prospect of that actually happening seems unlikely.

“Kevin Costner has told people he plans to return for at least a cameo and possibly more, but there are currently no discussions for him to do so,” Puck News’ Matthew Belloni reported.

Even if Costner significantly reduces his financial demands and time commitment, Sheridan may not want to bother reopening his completed scripts to accommodate a farewell to John Dutton. But Yellowstone fans would certainly love what Costner knows and hopes to leverage, as he always does.”

Last year, during a profile of Sheridan, The Hollywood Reporter reported that there were “ongoing discussions” with Costner to film the show’s final episodes. However, the scripts were not yet completed at the time.

Entertainment tonight Last year, it was reported that Costner would leave the series after the current fifth season, amid his alleged rift with Sheridan.

Yellowstone officially ends with its current fifth season, but fans have been waiting more than a year for the second half of season five to debut.

The first half of the season aired in late 2022, but filming of the second half has yet to begin.

Recently, one of the show’s stars shared an update on when viewers can expect more of the Dutton family’s exploits, even as creator Taylor Sheridan moves on to other shows.

Ian Bohen, who started as a recurring cast member at the beginning of the series before joining the main cast in season four, recently shared Entertainment tonight that Yellowstone could start filming again in late spring or early summer.

If all goes according to plan, the Paramount Network series would be back on the air in the fall of this year.

“We’re going back, the rumor is in May,” Bohen, 47, said earlier this month at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Party in West Hollywood.

He added that Yellowstone would probably “film this summer and then we should be performing in November or so.”

Bohen also clarified that the start dates were not yet set, so “it could be June,” he added.

The series would “shoot six episodes” before airing in “November, maybe December.”

He even suggested that the hit series would schedule its final episode ever for television’s biggest night of the year.

“Then we’ll go through the holidays and maybe the season finale — the series finale maybe on Super Bowl,” the actor said.

Bohen added wistfully that this was “the end of an era.”

Paramount has already said the show would return in November, and Bohen appears to confirm that goal, though the network has been more coy about revealing when Yellowstone would return to production.

With the series coming to an end, reportedly due to star Kevin Costner’s departure due to scheduling conflicts and deteriorating relationships with Sheridan, Bohen noted how strange it feels to be almost done with his character.

“It’s like going to college and high school with the same people for six or eight years and you’re like, ‘We have to go? What are we going to do then?’” Bohen continued. “It feels empty and weird, so I’m going to try to wring it out every second.”

Despite the behind-the-scenes conflicts that dogged the series, Bohen was optimistic that he and his co-stars would be on the same page once they were in front of the camera.

“The most important thing – and people come and go and there are all kinds of stories that you can read about and hear about – but this story that this show is about is the most important thing,” he said. “We are all components and we all fall deeply in love with each other as actors and as people, so we will complete that in this beautiful glide into the country.”

He added: ‘It will be great, so we just want to take advantage of the time.’

Bohen also clarified that he hasn’t seen any scripts for the final six episodes yet, but he was confident fans would be happy with the broadcast.

“You get the most satisfying, best ending the show can possibly have from the mind of our creator,” Bohen stated. “Taylor (Sheridan) is going to be performing in front of the crowd so it will be worth the wait, so we thank everyone for waiting.”

He has worked at Yellowstone as ranch hand Ryan since the first season, but Bohen was moved up to the main cast from season four.

During the already aired first half of season five, his character began a romance with new face Abby (played by country singer Lainey Wilson).

Wilson, who previously wondered whether her character would make it out alive at the end of the show, has said she would do her best to shoot the final season of Yellowstone even if she was on tour in the wake of her recent good luck. at the Grammy Awards.

“I will say this, I would be shocked if Lainey Wilson wasn’t there this season,” Bohen said, delighting fans of the on-screen couple.

“There was something – a little bit of something – to her character and to my character. “I believe that, I don’t know, but I believe that will happen,” he added.

Although Yellowstone is coming to an end, Paramount is reportedly moving forward with a sequel series that hopes to star Matthew McConaughey.

The network has been negotiating for months with the star to take over a similar role to Costner’s and give the new show the same star power.

However, McConaughey will reportedly only sign on after seeing the scripts he approves, and none have been provided to him since February.

The producers are reportedly closer to signing Michelle Pfeiffer to join the new show in a female lead role, although her casting has not yet been confirmed and could still fall apart.
