Harry Kane has issued a rallying cry to his Bayern Munich teammates after two devastating defeats put their Bundesliga title and Champions League hopes in jeopardy.
The German giants were beaten 1-0 at Lazio in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 on Wednesday evening, with defender Dayot Upamecano suspended for the second leg after being shown a straight red card in the second half.
That result came four days after they were convincingly outplayed 3-0 by Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga – a result that leaves them five points behind their rivals in the German top flight.
Serial winners Bayern – who suffered an embarrassing loss to third division Saarbrücken in the German Cup – are now faced with the unfamiliar feeling of ending a season without a trophy.
And looking back on a few nightmares, Kane is confident they can turn their fortunes around.

‘A really tough week. We started well in the first half and had clear opportunities, one for myself. There are big moments in these games,” the striker reflected TNT Sports after the match after the defeat at Lazio.
‘The second half was disappointing. We came out with less energy and less self-confidence. We were punished. Once you go back to 10 men, it’s always difficult.
‘We have to find it among ourselves. We are still in the race for the Bundesliga and still have a draw. We must keep fighting.
‘We are in a difficult period. We have to fight. We have to turn it around. We have big games and big things to fight for. We haven’t figured it out yet, we will never give up. We just have to turn it around. One play or spark can turn it around.”

Bayern will try to get their Bundesliga title back on track when they visit Bochum on Sunday afternoon.
After the trip to West Germany, Bayern will take on Leipzig (February 24) and Freiburg (March 1) before entertaining Lazio in the second leg of the European encounter.
