Finally, there’s some racing to talk about in Las Vegas, with George Russell leading the way for qualifying with the fastest time in the third and final practice session on Friday evening.

The Mercedes man is in third place behind Oscar Piastri of McLaren and home favorite Logan Sargent of Williams. Russell led the way with a lap time of 1:34.093.

Max Verstappen finished fourth and Lewis Hamilton, Russell’s Mercedes teammate, finished in eighth place.

However, the session did not go completely smoothly.

It was aborted with about five minutes to go after Alex Albon made contact with the wall, causing a wheel to come off his car.
