Impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has conveyed his best wishes to Grade 6 students across Kenya as they begin their Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exams.
In a statement shared on his X account on Monday, October 28, 2024, Gachagua sent messages of encouragement and support to the young candidates urging them to approach the exams with confidence.
“Today, over a million of our Grade 6 pupils begin the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA). We wish you the very best as you define your destiny in this examination,” Gachagua stated.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino also joined in the show of support, sending a message to the 1.3 million candidates taking part in the exams.
Owino encouraged the students to remain focused, persevere, and trust in their hard work and faith as they undertake the assessment. He motivated them to stay resilient, and consistent, and to keep their goals in sight.
“I wish the 1.3 million grade six Learners success as they sit for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA). This is the way to go for you to reach the city of victory. Just persevere, be consistent and put God first and you’ll make it,” Babu Owino wrote on his X account on Monday.
KPSEA schedule
This year’s KPSEA exams will have 1,313,913 students sit for the Mathematics paper on the first day, scheduled from 8:30 am to 9:50 am. The second session will be the English paper, running from 10:50 am to 11:50 am. While standard students will complete the English grammar paper within an hour, students with hearing or visual impairments will receive an extra 20 minutes.
On Tuesday, the exams continue with the Integrated Science paper from 8:30 am to 10:10 am, a duration of one hour and 20 minutes for regular students. However, hearing-impaired students will have an extended time of two hours and 10 minutes. Following a 30-minute break, all students will reconvene for the Kiswahili paper from 11:10 am to 12:10 pm. Visually impaired students will have an additional 20 minutes, while those with speech impairments will take the Kenya Sign Language exam during this session.
The final day of exams is set for October 30, 2024, starting with the Creative Arts & Social Studies paper at 8:30 am, and concluding at 10:10 am for regular students. Visually impaired students will have up to two hours and 10 minutes for this exam.
