FRED OMONDI EULOGY AS HE IS LAID TO REST

The burial of comedian Fred Omondi is currently underway at his father’s farm in Sega, Siaya County. He tragically passed away in a fatal road accident on June 15, 2024. The motorcycle he was on collided with a Forward Travellers Sacco matatu, resulting in the deaths of both him and the rider.

Today, on June 29, 2024, he is being laid to rest in a ceremony attended by prominent figures, including Azimio Party leader Raila Odinga, Lang’ata MP Jalang’o and his wife Amina Chao, 2mbili, Amber Ray, and her husband Kennedy Rapudo.

Fredrick Odhiambo Omondi was born on May 9, 1989, to the Late Chief Inspector William Oduor Omondi and the Late Margaret Omondi.

He was a beloved brother to Eric Omondi, Irene Adhiambo Omondi, and the Late Joseph Onyango Omondi.

Fredrick attended Arya Primary School and later proceeded to Kisumu Boys High School. It was here that his passion for the arts and performing blossomed. As an active member of the Christian Union and drama club, his love for the stage was evident. After completing school, he joined his brother Eric Omondi in stand-up comedy at the Churchill Show.

Fredrick became a regular performer at the Churchill Show, emerging as one of the pioneers of modern Kenyan comedy. He built a successful career out of his craft, entertaining audiences nationwide.

Until his untimely death, Fredrick was an accomplished creative and entrepreneur in the entertainment industry, gracing numerous stages across the country.

You will never be forgotten, Fredrick.
