It was pomp and colour as veteran radio presenter Fred Machokaa celebrated his 70th birthday on Saturday, September 10.The journalist, who has been in the media industry for more than 40 years, thanked his support system, wife, parents, children and friends.From family and friends to RMS bosses, they paid glowing tributes to Machokaa, leaving him emotional, and at some point, he wiped tears from his eyes.Machokaa and his wife cut a huge, stylish cake to mark the end of his 70th birthday celebration and shared it with those who attended the party.Sophie pampered her husband with love, and she said:The beautiful mother described her husband as a business partner and mentor.

Fred and his wife Sophie have been married for 40 plus years. They celebrated their 43 anniversary in 2022 in style.
Machoka turned 70 years old.To mark the milestone, he took the TV program Roga Roga to his farm where family, colleagues, and friends gathered to celebrate with him.
The couple renewed their wedding vows at their Isinya ranch, with big names attending the auspicious event. Famously known as the blackest man in black Africa, the radio presenter has managed to keep his family largely intact amidst the fame that comes with his profession.
In a past interview, the radio presenter revealed that his wife hated the fame but learnt to live with it with time.
Besides his program on TV, he also hosts the Roga Roga show on Citizen Radio.He has been with the RMS for over a decade, coming from the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) where he started his broadcasting career.
The Roga Roga Show is one of the most followed television shows in the country.The show, which plays dominantly Rhumba music, is a fan-favourite among Kenyans.
