The A-League is in crisis after the TV company that produces its live broadcasts went bankrupt.

Global Advance, the production company that provides live feeds for Channel 10 and Paramount+, has declared bankruptcy and appointed an administrator on Wednesday.

Late-night talks are now underway about how broadcasts for this weekend’s matches will be salvaged.

Fox Sports TV director Adam Hoskins tweeted on Wednesday: ‘The company they (the A-League) pay to produce the broadcast of their matches has gone bankrupt.

‘Gates locked. Feel sorry for all their employees who are in a world of hurt right now.”

A Reddit user claiming to be a freelancer with Global Advance posted on the forum: ‘I just received confirmation that this is true and we as freelancers have been left out.

NEC, another production company, is said to be in talks with the A-League about producing live streams for the games. At the time of publication, the matches are still scheduled.

Global Advance was founded in 2019 by partners Chris McMillan and Ian Hogg.

In an interview with mediaweek in 2022, Hogg outlined his vision for the company.

“GA is here to stay, our investments will shift significantly over the next twelve months as we grow our market share,” he said.

‘We don’t have to be the biggest, but we certainly want to be the best.’
