Two individuals who died in a collision on the M6 motorway have been identified. Jade McEnroe, 33, was among five people who died in the crash on the northbound carriageway near Tebay services in Cumbria, Tuesday afternoon. She was in a Toyota that collided with a southbound Skoda.
Tributes on Facebook described Ms McEnroe as a “beautiful soul” and “a wonderful mum.” Claire Watt expressed her devastation, while Lisajane Alderson remembered her as a “lovely girl.”
Jaroslaw Rossa, 42, and two boys, aged 15 and seven, were also among the deceased. All were from Glasgow and pronounced dead at the scene. Wagamama CEO Thomas Heier honoured Mr Rossa, a chef at the chain, for his “warmth, dedication, and kindness.”

The Skoda driver, a 40-year-old man from Cambridgeshire, also lost his life. A third boy in the Toyota, aged seven, was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and remains in serious condition.
Cumbria Constabulary reported receiving calls just after 4pm about a Skoda travelling south on the northbound carriageway. Shortly after, the Skoda collided head-on with the Toyota. Fire crews from Penrith, Kendal, and Shap responded and remained for several hours.
The M6 northbound between J36 and J39 was closed but reopened early Wednesday. Social media images showed black smoke and significant traffic tailbacks.
Driver Chris Isles, 58, captured a photo near the scene, initially thinking it was a vehicle fire. He described the incident as “terrible” and expressed shock at the fatalities.
Families of the victims are receiving support from specially trained officers, according to a Cumbria Constabulary spokesperson. A GoFundMe page has raised over £6,100 by Thursday evening to assist with funeral costs for both families. Officers thanked the public for their assistance and continue to appeal for any witnesses or dashcam footage.
