A pickup truck overturned on Highway 331 near Pattaya on Monday, creating a spectacle that left fresh fish strewn across the roadway.
The mishap, occurring in Baan Pong Saket, Moo 5, Takhian Tia sub-district, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province, saw emergency responders from the Sawangboriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation swiftly rushing to the scene.
Upon arrival, rescue teams discovered a bronze Isuzu D-Max pickup truck, sporting Rayong registration plates, lying on its roof amidst the median strip, its frame bearing significant damage. Despite the wreckage, the driver, 40 year old Suwann Rirat, emerged unscathed from the chaos.
Recounting the event, Suwann revealed he was en route to the nearby Khao Mai Kaeo market with a haul of fresh fish from Chon Buri when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn, leading to the dramatic overturn. Miraculously, his seatbelt ensured his safety.
The aftermath saw an assortment of fish, frogs, and containers scattered across the thoroughfare, prompting authorities to swiftly set up warning signals to avert further mayhem while diligently clearing the road, reported Pattaya News.
Investigations are underway by the police to ascertain the precise cause behind Suwann’s loss of control, ensuring such piscatorial pandemonium is prevented in the future.
