Felicity Shiru and Marya Okoth have shared what it feels like dating and living with a high voltage man. In simple terms, a high voltage man is one who is energetic and rigorous in terms of working towards what he wants to achieve.
Felicity who is in a relationship with Robert Ndegwa Kamau alias Thee Pluto and Marya with Oliver alias YY comedian revealed that they had a lot of expectations of how marriage should be especially from soap operas but the reality is different.
The first expectation they had was that their men would be romantic and they would be all over each other after moving in together like they used to during the dating period.
However, marriage changes everything as they said because each one of them is busy with work and most of the times there are other people in the house. That mostly they come back home tired or still have pending things to do like editing videos.
They disclosed that a high voltage man usually expresses their love by pushing their women to grow and become better in their career. Theirs is tough love because they can even get mad at their women if they notice inconsistency in their work.
Another thing that the two ladies expected was having celebrity couple goals with donning matching outfits. The reality for Marya is that YY doesn’t like matching clothes with her. That he would even go back to change if he realised his shoes are the same colour as Marya’s.
Felicity on the other hand said that they have never had an opportunity to buy matching outfits and it is not a priority for him.
They also expected their men to be overly romantic with gifting but unfortunately they just present whatever they have bought without wrapping them in a special way.
Marya also looked forward to having days when YY would volunteer to cook out of love but that is yet to happen. Although they both defended their men that they cannot cook when there are other people in the house.
Marya ended the conversation by advising those who are not in marriage to lower their expectations because reality is completely different from imaginations.
That a good marriage is all about understanding your partner’s love language and appreciating them.
