Fans say 'we will miss you' as they rally round the Hairy Bikers after they announced a 'well-earned break' and shared best-bits from their Agony Uncles podcast amid Dave Myers cancer battle

Fans say they will miss the Hairy Bikers as they rally behind Dave Myers and Si King after their hit podcast Agony Uncles announced the pair are taking a ‘well-earned break’.

The break was announced in an Instagram post on Friday promoting the latest episode of the show, titled the Best Of Confidential Corner Pt 1, which is a montage of some of the podcast’s ‘best bits’.

Producer Mark Jeeves, also known as the Thin White Duke, dubbed the episode as an ‘annual favourite’ that highlights the four ‘most listened to and commented on’ problems submitted by listeners over the last year.

The montage, which based on its name may have follow-up instalments, was launched as Dave, Si and their ‘sidekick’ Posh Tash embark on their summer holidays.

The break comes after Dave, 65, went public with his cancer

The video montage, which was posted to the podcast’s Instagram account on Friday, was used to highlight to most recent episode of Agony Uncles and announce the show’s holiday break.

In the post, the duo told fans: ‘Those hardworking Agony Uncles are taking a well earned break which gives us the chance to look back on a busy year of problem solving.’

Singing off, the pair added: ‘Listen to this week’s best off through all the streaming services!’

Fans, reacting to the news, shared how they are ‘excited’ to see the pair ‘again later this year’ – although a timetable for the podcast’s return has not yet been unveiled.

One said: ‘Will miss you both. All good wishes to you and your families.’

‘Two legends of television,’ another replied. ‘Hope all is going well, get plenty of rest.’

Another fan added: ‘Sad to hear that Dave Myers is battling cancer, hope all goes well with his treatment. As they both are legends in cooking on TV.’

The Best of Confidential Corner episode revisits four segments where Dave, Si and Tash helped viewers tackle their problems.

In one bit, titled The Recipe of Love, the pair offer their advice to a couple having problems in the bedroom.

The compilation episode revisits a bit titled The Swinging Mum & Dad which sees Dave, Si and Tash react to a listener who found love letters hidden in the floor boards of her childhood home.

However, the letters appeared to detail how the listener’s mother and father would attend swingers parties while the children stayed with their grandparents.

The third segment in the episode, the group answered a problem from a listener who recently started dating a woman who is adventurous with food in the bedroom.

The listener, whose tale was highlighted in a bit called the Pinot Piles, shared how the last time he and his lover were intimate, she poured wine on his genitals which irritated his haemorrhoids.

He said he was ‘sacred for his bum’ and asked the show for advice on how to address the situation with his girlfriend as he didn’t want to ‘put her off’.

Concluding the montage, the show revisits what the pair have called a ‘toe-curler’ episode from March titled Caught In The Act.

The viewer shared how she is worried about facing her parents who will visiting the flat she shares with her boyfriend in a week’s time.

She detailed how she her parents had video called to discuss arrangements for their trip while she and her boyfriend were being intimate. The pair quickly got dressed and answered the FaceTime call.

After the conversation finished the listener shut her laptop, thinking she ended the call, and they resumed having sex. However, the call had not actually ended and the woman’s father could hear their activities.

She asked the podcast for advice on what she should do when her parents, whom she highly suspects saw them having sex, get into town.

The Hairy Bikers rose to fame with their popular cooking programmes but have slowed down their busy schedule due to Dave’s health.

Dave last month told of the tearful moment he was able to get back on his motorbike again for the first time since his cancer diagnosis.

He recalled the emotional moment as he gave a health update, admitting he and Si were both left in tears when he was able to ride again.

He told the Yorkshire Post: ‘It’s been hard but I’m not the only one and I’m getting through it and I’m back at work.

‘I’ve had to learn to walk again and ride my bike again, and to get on my bike again with Kingy in the sunshine brought tears to both our eyes.’

Si added: ‘He’s a proper scrapper and he’s on good form. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster for everybody who loves and cares about Dave.’

Dave was finally been able to get back on his motorbike after buying himself a brand new vehicle earlier this year as he shared his hopes of getting back in the saddle.

He purchased a new motorbike, a £4,699 RE Bullet Trials 500, back in February and was joined by Si, 56, to look at the vehicle.

Dave took to Instagram at the time to share a snap of himself and Si grinning as they stood in front of his new purchase in Arnolds Motorcycles in Burton.

Alongside the snap, Dave penned: ‘Big step forward in getting back in the saddle.

‘Si came with me to take a look at my new bike, a 500cc royal Enfield bullet trials bike. Very exciting, thank you Arnold’s motorcycles of Burton. Love Dave.’

Elsewhere, Dave gave another update on his cancer battle last month, describing it as a ‘work in progress’.

Dave, who has not revealed what type of cancer he has, detailed having endured ’30 lots’ of chemotherapy over the past year.

Staying positive amid his journey, Dave added that he reckoned his cancer was ‘going the right way’ while sharing his gruelling schedule for treatment.

He told The Times: ‘I’m doing all right. It’s a work in progress. We’ve had some hard years but this one’s been… I’ve had 30 lots of chemo, spread over three weeks and then a week off. It’s going the right way.’

Detailing what’s ahead amid his cancer journey, he went on: ‘So that’s five sessions every other week and then I go film in Scotland for two weeks, then go back on chemo, but that’ll be twice a month.’

Dave has previously told how at times he was too ill to walk and unable to ride his motorcycle due to being unsteady amid his health struggles.

‘By God, the chemotherapy doesn’t half age you quickly. Because your balance goes, so for someone with a motorbike that’s a disaster and my walking has been affected quite a lot, really,’ he told the How To Be 60 podcast.

‘It’s neuropathy in your feet, so it’s hard to stand. So I’ve had to learn to walk again properly.

Plans: Dave and Si are due film a BBC Two travel series, Hairy Bikers Go West, which will see the duo travel from Scotland to Devon across eight episodes

‘It’s a funny thing chemotherapy, it’s one of life’s great levellers. It doesn’t matter if you’re on the telly or on the dole, if you get that then you’re in the s**t. And sometimes the chemo does make you depressed.

‘It’s a type of chemical depression, and that’s really hard, because everyone is telling you to be positive, but when the chemistry in your body is not telling you that story, that’s harsh.

‘Hopefully there will be more positive chapters beyond this.’
