He and a gang of teenagers ripped open the older woman’s car door and dragged her from the vehicle. They ran away while she was still in the car, pinned down by her seat belt, until the force severed one of her arms. She died shortly afterwards from her injuries.

Linda’s sister-in-law Kathy Richard sent an emotional message to Honore from the witness stand, the newspaper said New Orleans Times-Picayune.

She told him, “When you breathe your last, the only thing you hear may be the hounds of hell coming for you, to drag you back to where you belong.”

Prosecutors refused to give Honore a plea deal and it took a jury less than four hours to convict him of manslaughter on November 27.

“I personally hope that you don’t get out of there (prison), and that those hellhounds come after you soon,” Richard said in court on Friday.

Linda’s sister Jinnylynn Griffin made a statement outside court after the sentencing.

‘We have justice. He got what he deserved,” she said. “He’s a little punk, okay.

“He deserves to go where he’s going. He is a demon and God saw that demon that day. Linda’s arm was cut off and God let her die with good people who loved her.

“We’ve put the demons away now and the future demons can keep a closer eye on them because the DA’s office is out of the game.”

When Linda was attacked last year, shocking CCTV footage captured the moment four youths approached her car, forced the door open and dragged her out.

After police shared surveillance footage from the day of the attack in a search for information, one of the girls’ mothers recognized her and marched her to the police station.

Lawyers for Hodges tried to argue his case, claiming he was an idiotic adolescent who lacked the capacity to make decisions knowing the severity of their consequences.

In a letter to Frickey’s family, he begged for mercy.

“To the family of Mrs. Linda Frickey, my name is John and I am so sorry that I apologize for making you go through what you are going through. No one’s family should have to experience this kind of pain.

‘I made the biggest mistake of my life that day. I think about what you and the family go through every day. I say the “Our Father” prayer every day and night.

‘I ask for forgiveness every day. I’ve wanted to write you a letter for a long time, but I didn’t know what to say and I still don’t know what to say.

“I just want you to know sincerely that I’m sorry.

“I know words can change how you feel, but I want you to know that I am aware of how serious this is and I believe I am doing the right thing.”

His accomplices all received pleas for manslaughter and received 20 years in prison.

They are Briniyah Baker, 17, Lenyra Theophile, 16, and Mar’Qel Curtis. All four were arrested in 2022 after police shared surveillance images of them on the day of the attack.

At a vigil for the grandmother last year, Rickey Frickey paid a heartbreaking tribute to his late wife after her life ended so abruptly.

“I love her and I miss her very much,” he told WDSU. “It’s just hard to carry on without her, she’s done everything.”

Speaking next to her gravestone, he continued, “I come here every Sunday morning to see her…sometimes I don’t believe it.”

Rickey is suing the parents of four teenagers who dismembered his wife by cruelly dragging her behind her own SUV.

He filed a lawsuit to hold the parents “responsible,” his lawyer said, and held them partially responsible for her death in a newly filed lawsuit, seeking at least $50,000 in damages.
