EXCLUSIVE: ‘Killer’ yoga teacher Kaitlin Armstrong REJECTED plea deal offered by Soros-backed DA – but now she faces even more prison time after failed dash for freedom during doctor’s visit

Accused murderer Kaitlin Armstrong has been sentenced to life in prison for murder and has been offered a plea deal that could have saved her decades in prison, legal sources have told DailyMail.com.

The former yoga teacher, 35, who is accused of fatally shooting her love rival in May 2022, had the deal rejected by Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza.

The leniency offered to Garaza was extended to Armstrong long before her attempt to escape from corrections officers on Wednesday.

Armstrong will go on trial on October 30 for the death of pro cyclist Moriah ‘Mo’ Wilson, who police say was having an affair with Armstrong’s boyfriend Colin Strickland.

Wilson was found dead in an apartment in Austin, Texas on May 11, 2022, the same night she went out to dinner and swim with Strickland.

Garza, a George Soros-backed DA, has faced scrutiny over his handling of other cases. In April, he allowed a serial sex offender to walk free without jail time despite breaking a woman’s leg while chasing her, then masturbating over her, court records show.

The plea deal offered by Austin-based Garza Armstrong could have shaved years off a possible life sentence if she is convicted at trial, a legal source told DailyMail.com.

“She could have been released from prison in her 50s or 60s … much sooner than if she was convicted by a jury and given a life sentence.”

‘Against the advice of her lawyer, she rejected the plea deal. She insists on trying that case, but for her to flee again … it’s just insane,” said the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of an oral order in the case.

Cyclist Moriah ‘Mo’ Wilson was having dinner with Armstrong’s boyfriend the night she was shot, prosecutors said.

This week, while at a doctor’s appointment to see an orthopedic surgeon, Armstrong fled from guards escorting her back to prison.

Footage of the incident shows Armstrong running out of the doctor’s parking lot and jumping over a fence as the guard tries to catch her and falls.

The inmate jumped a fence and made it about a block and a half into a neighborhood before the cops caught up with her and took her back.

She was able to get away because she was not properly restrained, explained attorney Adam Loewy, who is not directly involved in Armstrong’s case.

‘It was a total breakdown in law enforcement; she didn’t tie her legs,” Lowey said.

‘The officers involved will face some discipline. It was a mistake that was made.’

Armstrong was also slapped with an additional felony charge for the botched escape — and that could be used against her at her upcoming trial.

‘She just made it a lot worse by trying to escape. It is admissible because it shows what is called “consciousness of guilt”. The state can show evidence that someone has committed a crime and knows they are guilty,’ explained Loewy.

After Wilson was shot dead in 2022, Armstrong fled to New York and then Costa Rica using her sister’s passport. She was on the run for 43 days until US Marshall’s arrested her.

She also changed her appearance, and receipts for a plastic surgeon’s office were found in the residence where she was arrested. Police also said she had plastic surgery, allegedly a nose job, and dyed her hair brown.

‘Why did you get an ID that wasn’t yours and flee the country. It’s just another story they can tell the jury. She knows this trial is coming up in literally weeks, and what is she doing … she’s trying to escape,’ the lawyer said.

News of the deal rejected by Armstrong may not resonate with voters who elected the Austin district attorney.

“He’s showing that he’s less concerned about victims of crime, and more concerned about getting money for his re-election that will be backed by (George) Soros,” said local attorney Bill Aleshire.

In recent months, Garza has dropped other criminals to the community’s shock.

In April, Garza, an admitted predator, was released into the community without jail time despite breaking a woman’s leg while chasing her to masturbate while standing over her, court records show.

Antonio Rios — who was also charged with indecent exposure for pleasuring himself in front of a child and additional women — was released without jail time after accepting a plea deal from Garza.

Rios pleaded guilty to aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and was released without even a GPS monitor.

Garza’s office did not respond to multiple requests for comment from the DailyMail.com
