Exclusive girls’ school called out over phallic garden

A private girls’ school in Australia was caught in quite a pickle over a garden-variety penis.

The $39,000-a-year Presbyterian Ladies’ College in Sydney inadvertently erected a phallic-looking front garden on its Croydon campus, the Morning Herald reported.

Headmaster Paul Burgis said he missed the shape during the design phase, but that a former student who viewed a drone’s footage pointed it out.

A school employee also provided “feedback” on the garden gaffe, he told the outlet.

“As part of recording the updates we sent a drone up to take pictures. At a certain angle from up high, the garden with its room for chairs took on a phallic shape which was unintended and unexpected,” Burgis told the Herald.

“As a result, the architects made some alterations which were completed within 72 hours of the drone pictures,” he said.

NBRS, the architectural firm hired for the project, did not immediately respond to the paper.

A former student with ongoing ties to the school said the shape of the original garden was obvious.

“It was unmistakably shaped like a penis and testicles,” she said on condition of anonymity.

“The immediate response was laughter — ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’ Photos have been circulating among the school as memes, saying, ‘Oh good morning’ and various kinds of jokes,” she added.
