‘He had signed on and was super keen,’ an insider told the publication.

However, the TV star got the chop after his final date on the breakfast show was revealed.

‘This was before his final date on Sunrise was confirmed and that affected his commitments,’ they said.

The insider finished by saying production will be clamouring to get him next year.

This year the line-up includes Charlie Albone, Christie Whelan Browne, Emily Weir, Gavin Wanganeen, Issa Schultz, James Magnussen, Laura Byrne, Mary Coustas, Matt Preston, Paulini, Phil Burton, Pia Miranda, Sally Pearson and Virginia Gay

It comes amid news Kochie will release a memoir, lifting the lid on his 21-years as host of Sunrise, according to New Idea magazine.

Kochie has already been presented with a $1million contract offer as publishers fight to win the rights to his memoir.

The source described Kochie as a ‘straight shooter’ who is ‘bound to deliver an explosive read’, especially when it comes to sharing his thoughts on his former Sunrise co-hosts Melissa Doyle, Samantha Armytage and Natalie Barr.

‘You can expect gushing chapters when it comes to the decade he shared with Mel Doyle – they’re still very close. The same can be said for Nat Barr,’ they said.

However, Armytage’s chapter may not receive the same kind of glowing feedback, given persistent rumours of her feud with Kochie and other members of the Sunrise team.

It comes as Kochie prepares to embark upon the next chapter of his career.

Kochie’s departure from Sunrise comes just months into the two-year contract he signed with Seven in December, meaning he has still unfinished work to do at the network.

According to The Australian Media Diary, network bosses are keen to get their money’s worth out of the former financial expert until his contract expires in 2024.

Kochie will continue to make guest appearances on various Seven shows including Sunrise,’ the publication reported.
