Emily Ratajkowski’s podcast cancelled as Sony lays off staffers

Emily Ratajkowski’s podcast has been quietly shut down by Sony Group, people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg — the same week the company sacked a “significant percentage” of its podcast division.

“High Low with EmRata,” which premiered less than one year ago, released three episodes weekly on topics “about everything from politics, philosophy and feminism to sex, TikTok and relationships,” the podcast’s description says.

Though it was popular among international listeners, it struggled to sell advertising because brands wanted to reach US consumers, the unnamed sources said.

The people, who asked not to be identified, said Ratajkowski will find a new company to produce her show, according to Bloomberg.

The Post has sought comment from Ratajkowski at her modeling agency, DNA Models, her only representatives after she fired her manager, acting agent and commercial rep back in 2020.

The same week Sony cut the London-born, California-raised supermodel’s show, it underwent its third round of podcast job cuts in the past two years.

The layoffs this week involved a “significant percentage of the division,” a Sony spokesperson told Bloomberg, declining to comment further.

“Like many in the industry, we are further streamlining our structure as we continue to shift our creative strategy and focus on building big audiences across a select group of ongoing shows and our subscription business,” the spokesperson added in a statement to the outlet.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the layoffs affected Sony Music Entertainment’s Somethin’ Else team, which is the producer behind “High Low with EmRata.”

Ratajkowski was born in London to American parents, but the 32-year-old supermodel was raised in Encinitas, Calif. Though it’s unclear how many international and US listeners tuned into “High Low with EmRata,” the podcast’s reviews on Apple and Spotify were very mixed.

While some praised Ratajkowski for being vulnerable and bringing on A-list guests, many others called it “boring,” says she “does not really shine as an interviewer” and that she “talks about modeling in a way that’s been said 10 million times before.”

Another review bashed Ratajkowski for citing TikTok as a news source, and called her opinions “out of touch.”
