Ellie Goulding looked nothing short of sensational in a red bikini as she posed for an Instagram selfie on New Year’s Day.

The 37-year-old singer showed off her incredible figure in the high-waisted two-piece as she relaxed on a lounger overlooking an infinity pool on Monday.

To show off her natural beauty, Ellie pulled back her blonde locks and accessorized with a gold pendant necklace.

The Still Falling For You singer later hit the beach as she shared a photo of the sun setting over the ocean on her Instagram Story.

Ellie, who celebrated her birthday on December 30, also uploaded a photo of her two friends holding a large cake with candles.

It comes after Ellie revealed she felt ‘vulnerable’ and ‘intimidated’ working in almost exclusively male-run studios when she launched her singing career.

The Love Me Like You Do singer said she would even wear baggy clothes without makeup to avoid causing distractions for her or anyone else.

Ellie said male producers would ask her out for a drink and sometimes it would “become a romantic affair when it shouldn’t be.” The star said such advancements were “a kind of currency” in the music industry.

Speaking to Radio 4’s Today Programme, Ellie said there are far better protections for young musicians today than when her career began in 2010, when her own record label now provides mentors and advisors for new talent.

She said: ‘It was very clear to me that I was a woman with mainly men around me. And it was a little bit intimidating and there were moments where I felt a little bit vulnerable and when I went into the studios years later, I still felt that vulnerability.

“I used to go alone a lot, I spent a lot of time alone, so I would just go into studios alone and it was often with male producers, so that was always in the back of my mind.

“I purposely went to the studio in baggy clothes, things like that, not because I thought anything was going to happen, just because I wanted to work there and not have any distractions for myself or anyone else.”

During a visit to her old university in Hereford as part of a feature on her stint as a guest editor on Today, the artist spoke to students about working in the music industry before the MeToo movement.

MeToo began in 2017 after allegations of sexual abuse were made against Harvey Weinstein, for which he was later convicted and jailed.

A number of high-profile stars came forward with allegations of sexual harassment or assault against high-profile male figures.
