“Well, there are very good reasons for that. Injuries and diseases.

“One of the big downsides of getting older is that injuries happen more often and last longer.”

“In my 20s the muscle pulled in two days, now it’s two weeks.

“Over the last two months I’ve been in and out of hospital with various problems, the flu followed by 3 weeks of stomach problems which ended up with me in hospital, and as soon as I recovered from that I got Covid, which hits me like an absolute train every time and he required a chest shave for an EKG and THEN two weeks ago, like the old man that I am, I slipped a disc and two ribs. Hooray.’

He added: “Hopefully now we can go ahead and start chopping up this old body.”

“So consider this another starting point, and if like me you’re struggling to get going, keep trying, it doesn’t matter how many times you fail as long as you get up one more time than you fall.”

“Well, I’ve got a great job waiting for me if the strikes end and I’ve decided to get into superhero shape, no drugs, no PEDs, no help, just a 40-year-old fat jerk making do with what I’ve got.”

“So we’ll start here while I figure this out.” We’ll be doing reviews and updates and hopefully I’ll be able to tell you what it’s for soon.’

He made a brief return in 2019 where a mental health storyline saw his character consider taking his own life.

His mum’s intervention led to Sean being admitted to a mental health facility, while he vowed to return in time to take his ex-stepdaughter Amy Mitchell to her late mum Roxy’s bar in Ibiza for her 18th birthday.

And he returned to the soap again in 2021, returning to EastEnders again to help Stacey deal with her relationship with Eve Unwin, before another appearance last year.
