EastEnders fans left baffled after two iconic characters disappear from soap after THAT shocking Christmas Day murder episode

EastEnders fans were left stunned to find two iconic characters have gone missing in recent episodes following the explosive Christmas Day special.

The BBC soap made history in an episode in February when they teased a murder in a flash but kept the identity of the body and the killer a major secret.

After ten nerve-wracking months of speculation, viewers finally found out which character was killed in the episode.

Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) was killed after being stabbed and Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) was attacked on Monday as The Six storyline reached a climax.

Six of Walford's matriarchs; Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Suki Kaur Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) became embroiled in a series of events that led to Keanu's downfall.

The six women have all been wronged by the men in their lives, leaving EastEnders fans guessing who the victim and the killer were all year long.

In addition to Keanu and Nish, several men were teased as potential victims before Christmas, with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), Tom 'Rocky' Cotton (Brian Conley), Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) and Ravi Gulati ( Aaron Thiara) involved.

But in the wake of the shocking special, eagle-eyed viewers have noticed that Phil and Jack have seemingly disappeared.

Several people took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to question the characters' absence, especially in light of them being teased as potential victims.

One person tweeted: 'Things I've noticed: Jack and Phil have been completely absent since Christmas.'

A second echoed: 'I don't understand why Jack and Phil were in the promo pics ahead of the Christmas Day episode? They weren't anywhere around!'

Another wrote: 'Phil & Jack haven't been seen in the aftermath either', while someone else said: 'I don't think Walford police have heard of CCTV and where is Dean Phil Jack'.

A fifth fan even suggested the pair could be killed off too, joking: 'Wondering who's next? Jack in the kitchen with the lead pipe or Phil with the rope in the garage???'

The festive episode came to an explosive end on Monday when Denise was seen hitting Nish over the head with a bottle as she tried to defend his wife Suki from his abuse.

Although Nish initially appeared to be dead, all was not as it seemed, but shortly afterwards Keanu burst into the Queen Victoria pub and saw Nish's body.

He became embroiled in a fight with Sharon after their wedding was called off when his attempted kidnapping of her son Albie was exposed.

When Sharon told Keanu she would send him to jail for his attempted kidnapping of Albie if he didn't keep quiet about Nish's alleged death, the groom rushed at her in an attempt to strangle her.

In a very unexpected twist, Linda then took a knife and stabbed Keanu in the back in an attempt to save Sharon's life.

Suki performed CPR on Nish and managed to get him breathing again before running to tell the others he was alive and discovering Keanu dead on the ground.

The six Walford women banded together to wrap Keanu's body in a tarpaulin and heavy duty tape before dragging him away to be buried under the floorboards of the burnt-out cafe.

They also made up a story about Keanu holding them at knifepoint in the Queen Vic and blamed him for hitting Nish over the head.
