EABL has also offered to issue full refunds to those who had purchased tickets for day two of the WalkerTown festival.

The brewers further stated that the disruptions had been caused by unforeseen technical challenges due to the rain, which affected their sound system, causing significant delays.

“We sincerely apologize to all our valued festival-goers, suppliers, artistes, and stakeholders for the disruptions experienced during Day Two of the Walker Town festival. Despite our best efforts, unforeseen technical challenges particularly due to the rain and other conditions affected our sound system, causing significant delays,” the statement reads in part.

Nyashinski WalkerTown performance

The technical challenges, EABL says, resulted in the delayed performance by Lauryn Hill and the cancellation of Nyashinski‘s performance, who is their John Walker brand partner.

The refunds for the day two ticket holders will be processed within two weeks.

“This resulted in the delayed performance by Miss Lauryn Hill and, regrettably, the cancellation of our brand partner Nyashinski’s performance, which deeply impacted the overall festival experience. We would like to extend our sincerest apologies to everyone who was affected. We understand the importance of meeting the high expectations we consistently strive to deliver,” EABL stated.

“In light of these circumstances, we will be issuing a 100% refund of the cash value that each ticket holder spent to acquire their ticket for Day Two of the Walker Town 2024 Festival. Refunds will be processed within the next two weeks. This is a reflection of our commitment to fairness and respect for the trust you placed in us.”

Kenyans had complained about a poor festival experience during the second day of the WalkerTown festival that was held at Kasarani, demanding a refund.
