There was drama in Trans Nzoia County when Sirende Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) Alfred Weswa was forced by area residents to walk on a muddy road.
In a video seen by K24 Digital, the agitated constituents forced the MCA to abandon his car and walk on the muddy road for failing to fix it.
They chanted inaudibly and splashed some muddy water on his car.
The turn of events comes amid nationwide protests advocating for better leadership.
Driven by the youths of the country, the anti-government protests which morphed from the anti-Finance Bill 2024 demos, have brought a significant shift in President William Ruto’s administration.
Some of the changes include the dissolution of the cabinet, scraping budgetary allocation for the office of the First Lady, spouses of the Deputy President and the Prime Cabinet Secretary among others.
Despite the few changes, the young Kenyans have still vowed to continue demonstrating until their other demands are met.
The most recent demonstrations were held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. The protesters had initially planned to demonstrate at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) but held peaceful demos at Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).
In stark contrast to recent demonstrations, the atmosphere was different, as protestors engaged in peaceful marches devoid of violence.
