Deion Sanders doesn’t hide take on college football’s best coach: ‘Let me see a mirror’

Deion Sanders’ answer to who he thinks is the best coach in college football shouldn’t surprise anyone.

“Let me see a mirror so I can look at it,” Sanders said during an interview on CBS’ “60 Minutes”

There are a lot of things that you can say about Sanders, but someone who lacks confidence is not one of them.

And after three big wins to start out his tenure leading the University of Colorado football program, it would be hard to completely argue he’s wrong.

The Buffaloes defeated Colorado State on Saturday night in a dramatic double-overtime victory that saw Shedeur Sanders — Deion Sanders’ son — and the offense orchestrate a late fourth-quarter drive to tie the game and force overtime.

“You think I’m gonna sit up here and tell you somebody else?” Sanders continued. “You think that’s the way I operate? That somebody else got that on me?”

While Sanders was inclined to say himself to the question, he was quick to mention his admiration for Alabama head coach Nick Saban.

“But I tell you this, I love and I adore and I respect and every time I do a commercial with Coach Saban, it’s a gift,” he said. “Just sitting in his presence and hearing him and throwing something else out there so I can hear his viewpoint on it. Because he’s forgotten more things than I may ever accomplish. So I’m a student looking up to this wonderful teacher saying, ‘Just throw me a crumb of what you know.’”
