Davide Sanclimenti has revealed how his ex-girlfriend Ekin-Su Culculoglu mysteriously pulled out of posting about their break up last week.
The Love Island winner, 28, took to Instagram on Sunday afternoon to clear up some rumours, including that he ‘blindsided’ his ex by posting about their split.
Davide claimed that Ekin-Su was supposed to share the break-up announcement at the exact same time as him, but decided to ‘pull out at the last minute’.
The Italian native didn’t offer any explanation for why Ekin-Su decided not to share the statement, but revealed he ‘respected her decision not to post’.

‘Despite the urge to keep it private, and contrary to what Chinese whispers are saying, I didn’t blindside her as she was fully aware about my intention to post.
‘At first she even agreed to post at the same time, she did change her mind last minute though.’
‘I respected her decision to not post it at the same time as me, but since the relationship has been on the rocks for months and partying ways has been a long time coming, I ultimately decided to go ahead with it rather than keep on dragging a situation that became unhealthy for both of us.
‘This has been the hardest thing I ever did in my life and there’s no perfect way to navigate a breakup.’
Elsewhere in the post, Davide addressed claims that he felt in Ekin-Su’s shadow, claiming that he was always ‘by her side supporting her’.
The couple put on a united display at the Indiana Jones premiere on Monday, but within days Davide, told fans they had parted ways after 11 months of dating.
Recent reports claimed Davide felt he was in Ekin-Su’s ‘shadow’ after she signed a number of lucrative deals with brands and blasted her for seeing their relationship as a ‘money-making brand’.
‘He felt swamped in the relationship, like he had totally lost his identity. He felt he was in Ekin’s shadow, with no room to grow,’ an insider told The Sun on Sunday.
His latest statement, read: ‘Posting publicly about the breakup was extremely difficult but necessary…’
‘And he felt she cared more about them as a money-making brand than as a love match.
‘He had been wanting to end it for some time. Davide didn’t want to move in with her as he knew it would be harder to leave.’
Davide has now appeared to address the claims in his new statement, writing: ‘The constant creation of fake narratives on a person who was nothing but a genuine, caring and loving boyfriend for her and all he wanted was to enjoy and nurture the beautiful relationship they had.
‘And instead we had to deal with ridiculous accusations and fake stories. This over time had a massive impact on my mental health and our relationship.’
The businessman took to Instagram on Thursday to share the sad news with his followers.
Davide wrote: ‘Ekin-Su and I are no longer together. I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared together and I wish her nothing but the best.
‘I would like for everybody to respect this decision during this difficult time. I will continue to support Ekin in anyway possible.’
Ekin-Su has yet to publicly comment on their split.
Sources have also claimed the relationship appeared to be on the rocks when Davide began partying with other women and putting himself in ‘vulnerable positions’.
Ekin-Su was said to be left ‘fuming and upset’ in April after finding messages and pictures from two models on Davide’s phone.
A source said at the time: ‘It all exploded last Sunday after she found messages on Davide’s phone discussing their time together.
‘He had been messaging both of the girls and she suspected they had all met up one night.
‘Ekin-Su contacted one of the girls to tell them she knew about things. She was furious and really upset.’

After these allegations, it was revealed the pair had jetted off on a make-or-break trip to Amsterdam, but struggled to get their relationship back on track.
Davide is currently on holiday in Ibiza posting shirtless pictures of himself and gym videos – even hinting on a return to the Love Island villa after he captioned a post ‘Guess who’s coming back.’
And whilst Ekin-Su is yet to post anything on social media referencing the split, she uploaded a slew of stunning pictures to Instagram from her time away in Bodrum, Mugla.
