Karl Stefanovic showed off his boxing skills on Thursday morning when he entered the MMA ring with his Today co-host Alex Cullen.

Karl, 49, and Alex, 43, stepped into the ring to promote Jake Gyllenhaal’s new film Road House.

The TV presenters wore muscle print T-shirts as they entered Lose Yourself by American rapper Eminem.

‘We’re putting Karl and Alex to the ultimate test. Do they have what it takes to fight like Conor (McGregor) and Jake? Elvis and James from the King’s Academy are here to get our guys fit,” said host Sarah Abo.

“Well, you guys are more ripped than I thought, so let’s talk about it. Let’s teach them,” Sarah joked.

Karl and Alex then practiced a few moves before battling each other.

Road House is a remake of an ’80s cult classic starring Patrick Swayze as New York bouncer James Dalton, who ends up working at a small-town nightclub.

In the film, Gyllenhaal plays a former UFC fighter who retires and becomes a bouncer at a bar in the Florida Keys.

Jason Walsh previously told DailyMail.com what it took to get Jake into the mold of a UFC fighter for the film.

He’s been training the Spider Man: Far From Home actor for eight years, but to get him into shape for Road House the pair worked at Walsh’s New York studio, Rise Nation.

The actor did intense 30-minute VersaClimber workouts and lifted weights.
