Socialite Corazon Kwamboka has launched an initiative to connect with Metrine Okumu whose husband beat the living daylights out of her.

Corazon launched an appeal to get to Okumu through a post on her Instagram Stories after empathizing with her.

In a statement, the bootyful socialite said she was saddened by the woman’s plight and asked for her contact so that she could assist her.

This made me so sad! Anyone knows this lady? Kindly share her contact we see how to help her,” Corazon Kwamboka wrote.

Corazon Kwamboka is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya even though she has not practised for a while.

The socialite was among 125 lawyers admitted to the Roll of Advocates in November 2016 by former Chief Justice David Maraga.

In November 2023, the socialite announced she had decided to go back to practising law.

Maybe Corazon is seeking to offer pro bono legal services to Metrine Okumu.

Okumu’s case

Metrine Okumu called for police action against her husband over repeated incidents of physical assault at their home in Busia County.

Speaking to the media at Busia County and Referral Hospital, where she was admitted after the ordeal, the 42-year-old woman narrated how she was accorded a dog’s beating by her husband when she went to ask him for food money at a local drinking den.

Okumu said that her husband and another woman he was with descended on her with blows, beating her to a pulp.

She claimed that they also poured the alcohol they were drinking on her.

“I went to ask him for money to buy food, and he was seated with another woman drinking alcohol. They poured the alcohol on me and then began to beat me,” the woman with a visibly swollen face told the media.

Metrine Okumu said she suffered severe injuries to her face and chest after her husband assaulted her with blows.

The woman, who confessed to having concealed such assault in the past to protect her husband, now wants her husband arrested to prevent a repeat of the same once she returns home.
