Kenyan digital content creator Bonventure Monyancha Kebati popularly known as Director Trevor has urged young creatives behind the viral chorea chorea phrase to cleanse their content.
In a statement posted on his Instastories on Sunday, October 13, 2024, Trevor who is the CEO of the Digital Content Creators Association of Kenya (DCCAK), disclosed that the language and themes the crew are using in their content may limit the potential to monetize their content.
He further encouraged the chorea chorea crew to rethink the message and content they are putting online so that they can be able to attract potential and meaningful partnerships.
Additionally, he said that the crew’s unique content, energy and talent have captured the attention of many.
“To the young and gifted creators behind Chorea Chorea, your energy and talent have undoubtedly captured the attention of many,” Trevor said.
“Cleanse your content and rethink the message you’re putting out. Some of the language and themes you’re using may be limiting your potential to monetize and attract potential meaningful partnerships.”
Trevor went on to advise the crew to reassess their approach so that they could build a sustainable future in the content creation industry.
According to Trevor, the content creation industry has an incredible opportunity but it only requires content that appeals audience and aligns with the standards and morals.
“However, as you continue to grow in this space, it’s important to think about the bigger picture. To build a sustainable future in content creation, I urge you to take a step back and reassess your approach,”
“There’s incredible opportunity ahead, but it requires content that appeals across a wider audience and aligns with the standards that brands look for. I believe in your potential,” he added.
Chorea chorea is a slang phrase which is largely used by the young generation in Kenya and it is loosely meant to mean ‘move on’ or ‘it is not a big deal‘.
