Carol Burnett would like Angelina Jolie to portray her in a possible biopic.
The legendary comedian, 90 – whose eponymous variety show earned 25 Emmys between 1967 and 1978 – is envisioning a film about her illustrious life starring the one and only Oscar-winning beauty.
During a recent interview with ANDBurnett enthusiastically confirmed her choice of the 48-year-old actress, exclaiming, “I think she’s perfect.”
Her Palm Royale co-star Kristen Wiig chimed in with a resounding “Yes.”
Burnett also revealed that she agreed to her role in the AppleTV+ series Palm Royale without revising the script, basing her decision solely on the esteemed cast involved.

Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas and Leslie Bibb join Burnett and Wiig in the period comedy about an “ambitious woman who schemes to secure her seat at America’s most exclusive table: the high society of Palm Beach circa 1969,” according to the show. website.
Burnett noted, “When they called me to do it, I didn’t even have to read a script. I said, “I’m in,” because of who I would be working with, and that was it.
“And then I read the script and that was the icing on the cake.”
Looking ahead to her 91st birthday on April 26, Burnett expressed her wish for a second season of the series to keep her busy.
She said, “Well, I hope there’s a second season, you know, that keeps me working, which I enjoy. Yes, as long as I’m having fun, and that’s what I want.
“I always approach it as something new that I’ve never done before, so I’m just happy to be working and that I have all my parts. I have my hips and my knees – and I think my brain – so as long as I can keep that up and work, I want to work.”
Burnett changed the television landscape by becoming the first woman to lead a comedy variety show.
