Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion fans spot blink-and-you'll-miss moment in Bongos music video which is a subtle nod to Beyoncé

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion released the music video for their new song on Friday morning – which has already sent Beyoncé fans into a frenzy.

Eagle-eyed viewers were convinced they had spotted a subtle nod to the Crazy In Love singer’s own music video.

Cardi B, 30,  – real name Belcalis Cephus – has been teasing new track Bongos, featuring fellow rap artist Megan Thee Stallion, since September 5 with promotional cover art on her Instagram.

The WAP duo posed in the poster wearing skimpy monokinis, neon stilettos and multicoloured pastel wigs while licking lollipops suggestively.

Released on Youtube at 5AM BST, the music video has already amassed over 700K views – with the pair bringing their A-game by showcasing vibrant visuals, daring outfits and explicit synchronised dance choreography.

Beyoncé fans, however, have noticed particular homages paid in the footage – pointing out several scenes that are reminiscent of themes used in the singer’s own previous music videos.

A fanpage named @BardiiBeyyy posted on X, formerly Twitter, a screenshot of Megan Thee Stallion in the Bongos video and one from Beyoncé’s 2020 music video to Black Is King – asking: ‘Did anybody catch this?’

The screenshots showed the two artists wearing similar sequined swimming costumes, with a posse of backing dancers surrounding a pool – but, most notably, it appeared that the same peach-coloured mansion was used as a backdrop in the videos.

Several people on X agreed that the ‘iconic’ estate had been used in the two music videos, with one fan responding after watching footage from Bongos: ‘I thought it looked familiar.’

Another person responding to the fanpage simply said, ‘Immediately,’ while a second wrote, ‘I loved it [Bongos video] even more because of it.’

A third exclaimed: ‘I thought I was the only one who noticed! They ate so bad just like mother.’

One eagle-eyed fan confirmed the location of the mansion, revealing: ‘This is the Hearst Estate! Literally an iconic location!’

Another elaborated: ‘Yup! It’s also where they filmed parts of the Bodyguard!’

The Hearst Estate, according to House Beautiful, is a $125 million – reduced in 2021 to $89 million due to a long bankruptcy saga – stunning Spanish-style mansion located in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.

It has presidential ties too – President John F. Kennedy enlisted the home as his West Coast headquarters during his presidential campaign, and he even honeymooned there with wife Jacqueline.

Other fans on X were also quick to point out how Bongos drew inspiration from another of Beyoncé’s popular music videos.
