Baby, he was born to rest.
Rock icon Bruce Springsteen canceled both his Wednesday and Friday shows with the E Street Band due to an undisclosed illness.
The Boss’ team issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) stating that the Philadelphia dates would be rescheduled for a later date.
“Due to Bruce Springsteen having been taken ill, his concerts with The E Street Band at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 16 and 18 have been postponed,” read the statement. “We are working on rescheduling the dates so please hold on to your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled shows.”
The Post reached out to Springsteen, 73, for comment.
No official details of the “Thunder Road” singer’s illness have been given as of Thursday.
Springsteen’s cancelation comes in the middle of his first worldwide tour since 2016, which started in February in Europe before making its way stateside.
Several fans wished the “Glory Days” singer a speedy recovery after learning the show had been canceled.
“Get well soon @springsteen sending healing hugs,” posted one fan on X.
“Wishing @springsteen a speedy recovery. We’ll be waiting for you when you’re back! Just get better, tweeted a fan account dedicated to the legendary singer.
“Get well soon Bruce Springsteen,” stated one fan.
One fan posted a video of what he claimed to be Springsteen’s vocal warm-up moments before the superstar decided to cancel the show.
Fans also speculated on social media that The Boss and his wife Patti Scialfa, who plays alongside her husband, had contracted COVID-19, though no official statement has been made regarding those allegations.
This is not the first time fans have been worried about Springsteen.
In May, the singer took a tumble while playing to a massive crowd in Amsterdam and had to be rescued by a crew member and a member of his band.
A viral TikTok video of the tumble showed the singer tripping while walking up the stairs to the stage, causing concertgoers to gasp.
Springsteen has joined the list of several artists who have had to cancel and reschedule shows due to unforeseen circumstances.
“American Idol” Judge Lionel Richie sparked the ire of several concertgoers when after he forced them to wait “all night long” at Madison Square Garden only to cancel the show due to bad weather.
Richie, 74, later apologized to his fans saying that he tried his best to make it to the event.
“I had two ‘no’s to come at the same time,” Richie said in footage captured by fans. “And when those two decided it’s a no — when God says no and when the pilot says no, the answer … I tried to bribe the pilot.”
“And the pilot said, ‘I do want to see my wife tomorrow,’” continued Richie. “So tonight we are going to make up for that. I apologize for that a thousand times.”
The Queen of Pop, Madonna, also recently announced her newly rescheduled tour dates after she was rushed to the hospital due to a terrible bacterial infection.
