The family of female DJ Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed in Wednesday’s mass shooting in Kansas City, claims she died at the scene instead of at a hospital as previously reported.

Lopez claimed Thursday that his 44-year-old sister, and beloved local DJ, was mowed down by at least one of them.
Lopez, a respected figure in the city’s Spanish-speaking community, then revealed that Lopez-Galvan’s son, Marc, and her daughter, Adrianna, were both present and witnessed their mother’s merciless killing.
It wasn’t until he was in his early 20s that Marc was also shot, Lopez said. He claimed it was his cousin who was rushed to a hospital and not his sister, despite earlier reports.
He added that two other family members, two primary school girls, were also hit by bullets, while police said nine children were hospitalized. Their investigation is still ongoing as another 13 adults were injured.

Their young cousins — identified only as the elementary school daughters of Kansas City resident Erika Reyes — were also present when the first shots rang out, and were both struck by gunfire, though Lopez said their wounds are “non-life-threatening.”
“She never made it to the hospital,” Lopez said of his younger sister’s fate — a statement further corroborated Thursday by police who confirmed she died at the scene, contrary to earlier reports.
Beyond that, the CEO of a local youth center said the rest is still hazy — and that it was unclear whether Lopez Galvan’s husband, 66-year-old Mike Galvan, was at the party.
As far as Lopez knows so far, Galvan said his sister was with Marc and Adriana.
Their young cousins — identified only as the elementary school daughters of relative Erika Reyes — were also present on the west side of Union Station when the first shots rang out.
Unfortunately, all but Adriana were affected, Lopez said, while his sister was fatally hit.
‘They enjoyed the day and got ready to go home. Everyone was,” Lopez lamented, offering the crucial insight to the local Kansas City star.
“They were all kind of together. They got caught in the crossfire that was going on.”
He then revealed the extent of the youngster’s injuries, stating that his nephew, in his 20s, was shot once in the leg and has since been released.
Although Adriana is not physically injured, she is struggling mentally, he said – before expressing concern for both as they “witnessed their mother being shot.”

Although Marc has been released from the hospital, Lopez says the family “really needs to help him mentally to get through this.”
He continued, “Besides the shock, there was the initial shock, with his mother, when all this happened.”
Lopez further revealed how his sister – a disc jockey on a Spanish music program on community radio station KKFI – was the youngest of four siblings, including himself.
“Of the four of us siblings, she was the life of the party,” he said. ‘Bubbly person, never met a stranger before. She was well-liked in the community and had a big heart.”
He added that the mother of two had also been a die-hard Kansas City fan, and was over the moon when they won the big game.
No funeral plans have been made, he said – before revealing the current condition of Marc and Adriana’s cousins who were hit by the hail of bullets.
“(Their wounds are) non-life-threatening,” Lopez told The Star.
He added that the family has not yet seen his sister’s body because it is part of an active murder investigation.
“If you have a… It’s a murder,” he said before walking away. “Even if I say, ‘My sister was murdered,’ it’s absurd even to say that.”

He explained how “if there is an investigation that is still active, they will not give us any details on how to get her body back for a respectful burial until the investigation is over,” before sharing how they plan to do that. honor her memory.
“We are going to try to make sure she is not forgotten,” he said, as police confirmed they have two young suspects in custody.
“If we should use this as an example to finally get the right attention in Congress to really address gun violence,” he continued. “That’s something that will be part of my mission for the rest of my life.
“She tried to go (like everyone else) to celebrate.”
The important count came shortly after staff at Children’s Mercy hospital also confirmed they had treated nine children for gunshot wounds resulting from the incident.
All, including Reyes’ young daughters, are expected to recover, they said – with police adding that of the 22 injured victims, some of whom were trampled in the fighting, half were children under 16.
Police Chief Stacey Graves added that while her department is still sorting through evidence, the victims were between the ages of eight and 47. Lopez did not specify the ages of the two girls on Sunday, other than to say they were in elementary school.
University Health officials added that of the adult gunshot victims rushed to their hospital, two remain in critical condition and in intensive care.
However, medical staff there said both are showing signs of improvement – while Graves revealed that of the three people detained after the incident on Wednesday, two are still being held.
Both are teenage youth, and a third child was released sometime before her Thursday statement.
She added that the 24-hour screening rule does not apply to young people, meaning officials can hold them for much longer before they are lost.
Their investigation continues, just like Friday.
