Brittany Mahomes has criticized NFL fans for criticizing her new best friend Taylor Swift, sharing a post on Instagram in which NBA legend Charles Barkley called the singer’s football critics “losers.”
In the post, Mahomes wrote; ‘To leave. Them. Know” in Barkley’s words: “If you yell at Taylor Swift for ruining football, you’re just a loser.”
Swift has faced criticism since Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce went public with their relationship in late September — mostly as fans grew frustrated with how often she is filmed cheering him on mid-game.
The singer addressed the criticism in an interview with TIME magazine after they crowned her Person of the Year for 2023.
“I’m just here to support Travis,” she said. “I have no idea if too much of me is being shown and I’m going to piss off some dads, Brads and Chads.”

Barkley, an NBA analyst for TNT Sports and an 11-time all-star from his playing career with the 76ers, Suns and Rockets, was asked by CNN how he saw Swift’s impact on the game.
“When you yell at Taylor Swift for ruining football. You’re just a loser,” Barkley said. ‘You’re just a loser or an asshole. One of the two.
“When it comes to the Super Bowl, where a lot of people who don’t watch football all year round double the crowd even for the conference championship games, part of that is the halftime entertainment, the commercials.
“So people who suddenly don’t like something about Taylor Swift, don’t like the Chiefs, or have concluded that maybe Taylor Swift isn’t a Trumper are annoyed by her.
“I can guarantee that all this news wouldn’t be happening on Fox News if she were wearing a MAGA hat. They would love it.
“It’s hard to imagine that the Super Bowl could have a higher rating, but in a small percentage it could actually go up and in terms of merchandise sales – the Travis Kelce jersey and all the rest – and the exposure of regular season games rules the NFL supreme. about sports, but about all American entertainment.
