The talented trio originally met as children starring as Mouseketeers on Disney Channel’s The Mickey Mouse Club from 1993-1994, where Britney and Christina shared a dressing room.

In her new memoir The Woman In Me, Britney expressed her disgust at the couple’s memorable Rolling Stone cover and the way Christina said at the time that she thought Justin and Britney would get back together.

“They were on the cover of Rolling Stone together, he in a black tank top, looking at her with sexy eyes, she looking at the camera, wearing a black lace-up shirt,” Britney wrote.

“In that story, she said she thought Justin and I should get back together, which was just confusing considering how negative she had been elsewhere.”

Britney continued, “Even though they weren’t trying to be cruel, it felt like they were just pouring salt in the wound. Why was it so easy for everyone to forget that I was human – so vulnerable that these headlines could leave a bruise?’

But fans quickly took to social media to criticize Britney’s stance, saying that Justin and Christina simply wanted to promote their tour and that it had nothing to do with her.

On Sorry Britney.”

Another user added: ‘Omg it wasn’t even that deep it was a tour promo. Christina and Justin have also been friends since they were kids.”

A third fan wrote: ‘Britney is really about to kill me. Christina wasn’t thinking about you by going on tour with Justin or trying to hurt you. They were childhood friends and always have been. They have always spoken highly of each other, so a collaboration was definitely possible. Everything isn’t about you.’

A fourth added: ‘Huh? Xtina did a photo shoot to promote their tour,” while a fifth similarly wrote: “They were promoting a tour!!!”

Another wrote: ‘Someone should tell Britney it wasn’t that deep. The last thing on Xtina’s mind when she made the cover was Britney. The world doesn’t revolve around her. Xtina just wanted to promote her tour with JT.”

Elsewhere in the memoir, Britney admitted that she was jealous of Christina for having the freedom to party with some of their shared backup dancers during her 13-year conservatorship, which restricted alcohol consumption.

“(Christina) seemed quite confused,” she wrote. “It would have been fun to have a drink with them, to get rebellious, cheeky and fun.”

But it wasn’t all negative, as Britney praised Christina and Gwen Stefani – who both appeared on The Voice in 2016 – for “looking really professional on TV,” writing, “When the camera is on them, they thrive.”

Oddly enough, Britney completely left Christina out of the chapter of her 288-page tell-all discussing her open-mouth kiss with Madonna at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, despite also locking lips with the Queen of Pop.

At the time, Christina told Blender that the semi-retired pop star “seemed nervous all the time” backstage like “a lost little girl, someone who needs guidance.”

After hearing the singer’s comments, Britney made the same mockery in 2004: “When someone’s been rude to you so many times, it’s like, ‘You know what, Christina, I’m really not into being fake anymore.’ “

So maybe that’s why Christina stammered Jimmy Kimmel asked her last week if she wanted to be included in The Woman In Me: ‘I’d rather be you than me.’

Christina added, “I hope that, you know, she’s okay and everything is beautiful. So, you know, I think the future should be celebrated.”

Simon & Schuster paid Britney $15 million to write her long-awaited memoir – which hits shelves Tuesday – which has already topped Amazon’s bestseller list.
