Comedienne Brenda Gatwiri, alias Bree, was just days away from marrying her longtime boyfriend, Dave, whn she died. She was found dead on October 31 at her Nairobi home, leaving her family and friends in shock.
Brenda Gatwiri, 29, and Dave had been in a relationship for four years and were eagerly preparing for their traditional wedding, which was set for early November.
The couple had already completed the introduction ceremony, and Bree’s family had gathered in Nairobi in anticipation of the big day.
A relative told Tuko.co.ke that Brenda Gatwiri and Dave were deeply in love and excited for their future together. Bree’s mother and sisters were staying with her when the unexpected tragedy occurred.
What Led to Brenda Gatwiri Death?
The heartbreaking news comes shortly after Brenda Gatwiri and her brother Brian were in a serious car accident earlier this year while traveling from Meru to Nairobi.
The car was completely written off after rolling over in Sagana, but they did not seek medical help, thinking they were fine.
A few months later, Brenda, who had four younger siblings, started having seizures and falling, which worried her family. Her sisters even moved in to take care of her.
Tragically, Gatwiri was home alone on the day that she suffered a seizure and died due to lack of oxygen to her brain.
She was discovered lifeless with blood in her mouth and stiff hands. Doctors ruled out poisoning, stating that Bree’s death was likely caused by a lack of oxygen to her brain.
It was reported that Brenda had been taking painkillers regularly, which may have contributed to her untimely passing
Gatwiri’s was laid to rest on November 15 at her father’s compound.
Did Brenda Gatwiri Date Jasper Murume?
Previously, Brenda Gatwiri dated comedian Jasper Murume. They met in 2018 and were in a relationship for some time before amicably parting ways.
Despite their breakup, they continued working together professionally. Jasper Murume clarified that by the time of Gatwiri’s death, they were no longer in a romantic relationship, as he had moved on, started a family, and was married.
“She was my girlfriend. I’m now married with a child. After the breakup, it was never the same again, but we continued working together as professionals,” he confirmed.
