Bourke plane crash: Man dies in farm tragedy as crop duster ploughs into the ground at remote field

A man has died in a plane crash on a farm in remote NSW.

Emergency services rushed to the property near Bourke at around 7.50am after reports that a plane had crashed.

Police said officers from the Central North District discovered a crop dusting aircraft had crashed in a field.

“The pilot and sole occupant of the aircraft, a 47-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene,” police said on Saturday afternoon.

“A crime scene has been established and is being forensically examined.”

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
