Billie Eilish shows off her unique style in black slacks with pink pinstripe shirt and tie

The much-anticipated Barbie film, starring Margot Robbie as the iconic Mattel doll and Ryan Gosling as her beloved Ken made its world premiere in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 9.

Billie Eislish, who contributed a song to the soundtrack, was among the stars to attend the event at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall.

In recognition of Barbie’s favorite color, the cast, crew and high-profile guests walked the pink carpet, instead of red, when posing for promotional photos ahead of the screening.

Eilish, 21, showcased her unique style, and enthusiasm for the first-ever live-action version of a Barbie film, in loose-fitting black slacks that were styled in a high-water design.

She would give a nod of respect to the production’s color theme by wearing a pink, pinstripe dress shirt that she matched with a hot pink tie.

Rouding out her one-of-a-kind look, the Hotline Bling star wore white sneakers with loose laces, matching socks, which were visible due to the high-water slacks, and her dark tresses long, straight and flowing with major bangs and a center part.

Eilish’s song What Was I Made For? is slated to be the seventh single off the soundt5rack titled, Barbie: The Album.

Ahead of its release, the seven-time Grammy winner shared a promo on her Instagram page.

‘AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! “What Was I Made For?” COMING OUT JULY 13TH AT 7AM PT. !!!!!!!!’ she shared in the caption. ‘WE MADE THIS SONG FOR BARBIE AND IT MEANS THE ABSOLUTE WORRRRLLLD TO ME. THIS MOVIE IS GONNA CHANGE UR LIVES AND HOPEFULLY THE SONG WILL TOO. GET READY TO SOB @FINNEAS.’

Some of the other musical artists who contributed songs for the sountrack include Ava Max, Charli XCX, Dominic Fike, Fifty Fifty, Gayle, Haim, Ice Spice, Kali, Karol G, Khalid, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, PinkPantheress, Tame Impala,, the Kid Laroi, as well as cast members Ryan Gosling and Dua Lipa.

Directed by Greta Gerwig from a screenplay she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach, the storyline has largely been kept under wraps, but Vogue is now reporting that it was inspired by the 1994 book Reviving Ophelia, which Gerwig read as a kid, that details problems girls face when they enter adolescence.

While writing the screenplay Gerwig came to the realization of what the film should ultimately cover.

‘How is this journey the same thing that a teenage girl feels?’ she thought, adding, ‘All of a sudden, she thinks, “Oh, I’m not good enough.”‘

During a conversation with the publication Robbie also gave a glimpse into the premise by sharing about the time the production team pitched the idea of the film to Mattel.

‘We of course would want to honor the 60-year legacy that this brand has. But we have to acknowledge that there are a lot of people who aren’t fans of Barbie,’ they told company executives.

‘And in fact, aren’t just indifferent to Barbie. They actively hate Barbie. And have a real issue with Barbie. We need to find a way to acknowledge that.’

A synopsis on IMDB of the upcoming film reads: ‘A doll living in ‘Barbieland’ is expelled for not being perfect enough and sets off on an adventure in the real world. A Live-action feature film based on the popular line of Barbie toys.’

The film is being touted as ‘a fish-out-of-water story about a doll who is ousted from toy society for not being perfect enough’, according to a report by Vulture. She then comes to the realization that what’s on the inside is more important than her appearance

Along with Robbie playing Barbie and Gosling as Ken, the much-anticipated romantic comedy also stars America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Rhea Pearlman, Ncuti Gatwa, Emerald Fennell, Scott Evans, Connor Swindells, Ritu Aryau, Jamie Demetriou and Marisa Abela.

Barbie is scheduled to premiere in theaters in the UK and the US on July 21.
