According to Page Six, more than 25 women on Tik Tok have revealed that they have been randomly attacked in New York City in recent months.

The growing number of random punch attacks in New York City appears to be part of a disturbing trend called the knockout game – where strangers punch random strangers in New York City with the intention of “knocking them unconscious.”

The so-called violent game began in 1992 after Yngv Raustein, an MIT student, was attacked by a group of local teenagers in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Yngve was attacked and beaten by the teenagers, who then stabbed him; he succumbed to his injuries.

They had told prosecutors at the time that their goal was to “knock a stranger to the ground with just one punch.”

They had added that if they were not successful, they would be targeted by witnesses.

The goal of the sick game is to inflict violence on strangers.

It resurfaced in 2017 and was most recently widespread in 2021 and 2022.

By 2022, twenty incidents had been reported by August of that year.
