Mumias East Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has urged Generation Z (Gen Z) to be objective on key issues when engaging with President William Ruto at the X Spaces meeting on Friday, July 5, 2o24, from 2 pm to 5 pm.
In a video shared on Instagram, Salasya stated that a section of Gen Z’s X users are not objective with the real issues that they want to touch on adding that engaging with Ruto without necessary action isn’t good.
He further encouraged the young generation to remain focused and follow the footsteps of the three senior local journalists who were very objective with their questions during a round table media interview with Ruto on June 30, 2024, at State House.
“It seems like how I saw on X they are not so much objective on key issues that they really wanted to touch.”
“They should remain focused in fact my request could be like the way we saw Linus Kaikai, Joe Ageyo and Eric Latiff did so well that they were very objective with their questions.”
Narrating his experience after he was hosted on X Spaces on Thursday, July 6, 2024, Salasya said that a section of Gen Z on X needs civic education on real issues, especially on how the Constituency Development Funds (CDF) works.
“Hey guys so it’s morning ma Gen Z, yesterday I was hosted on X-Space just to try to talk about issues and some genuine issues that were raised but I wanted, I tried to give people on the X to be objective on real issues and I noted that they really need a lot of civic education on CDF how does it work. I came up with some of the issues but they were not so much bothered to discuss them,” he stated.
