Bangkok Police arrested a man for a series of burglaries, including a recent theft at a construction materials store. The 53 year old man was apprehended following a detailed investigation.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Bureau, led by Teeradet Thamsuthi, along with the Udomsuk Police Station, successfully arrested the man, known as Yanyont, or Sinu, in an apartment in Phra Pradaeng District, Samut Prakan Province. The arrest was in response to an outstanding warrant from the Phra Khanong Criminal Court for nighttime theft involving damage to property and the use of a vehicle to facilitate the crime.
The incident leading to Sinu’s arrest occurred on March 19. The owner of a construction materials store in Soi Kanchanaphisek 40, Dokmai Subdistrict, reported that a masked individual broke into the store and stole 30,000 baht in cash and a CCTV server worth approximately 8,000 baht.
Police investigators reviewed CCTV footage and traced the suspect’s escape route to Soi Suksawat 39 in Samut Prakan. Further intelligence identified the suspect as Sinu. Police then gathered evidence and secured an arrest warrant.
“We received information that Sinu was hiding in a room at an unnumbered apartment in Phra Pradaeng. We proceeded to the location, identified him, and presented the warrant before taking him into custody.”
Upon examining Sinut’s criminal record, officers discovered he had previously been involved in three other criminal cases: organising illegal gambling in Phra Pradaeng, and two counts of theft from residences and government offices.
During interrogation, Sinu confessed to committing the theft at the construction materials store. He also admitted to a previous burglary at a residence on Chalerm Prakiat Road, Soi 28, Dokmai Subdistrict, on February 17.
Sinu stated during questioning that after committing the crimes, he would think of the Buddhist teachings and extend kindness to the victims.
Following his confession, Sinu was handed over to the Udomsuk Police Station for further legal proceedings, reported KhaoSod.
