Bahati has confronted fellow singer Prezzo for fainting during the launch of the Bahati Empire TV show, an incident that drew unwanted attention away from the main event.
On Prezzo’s podcast, Syllabus of Life, Bahati joked about the incident and expressed his concerns. “Lakini kwa launch bana, I was like Prezident ameona Gachagua aka faint. What was wrong?” Bahati laughed.
“I have called you; the Deputy is coming; he has to be welcomed by the President! But the President is fainting! What’s wrong?”
Prezzo clarified that his fainting was not planned and was due to fatigue.
“There were a lot of things I was doing that week. So even on the day of the launch, I had forgotten. Then you called and asked me what time I was arriving.” Prezzo explained.
“That is when I remembered oh it’s today! You know I can never let you down, so I hurriedly left. Long story short, si ati nili faint after meeting my DP. That was in the middle of a red carpet interview.”
Bahati Accuses Prezzo of Stealing the Show
Bahati, however, felt that Prezzo’s fainting overshadowed his big night.
“eh I was like, alafu kidogo kidogo there was a lot of pressure,” Bahati said.
“So the next day am selling my show, why is Prezzo trying to take my shine? Because you were trending at the top. I was like na hii ni stori gani sielewi.”
Prezzo denied that his fainting spell was a publicity stunt.
“When you look at that clip when we got there because of the Deputy President there was a protocol,” Prezzo said.
“So I allowed everyone to enter because I knew you had allocated me a seat. So, when everybody was seated, the red carpet interviewed that seizure ikani pata. I do not have a history of it.”
Prezzo later sought medical attention and was advised to reduce his workload. “They told me I am overworking myself,” he said.
“You know at the end of the day, at least I showed up.”
Despite the initial drama, Bahati and Prezzo have since resolved the issue and continue their long-standing friendship.
