Baby Sagini’s mother has broken her silence days after her son’s assailants were slapped with prison sentences.
Ms Nyaboke in an interview with the Nation, revealed that she was disappointed with the court’s ruling. She stated that they deserved life prison sentences. She continued by saying that her child is completely blind and nothing can be done.
Three year-old baby Sagini’s eyes were gouged in December, 2022. The child’s aunt, grandmother and cousin( the main suspect) were arrested and charged in court for the inhumane act.
Alex Maina, the main suspect was handed 40 years in prison. His aunt, Pacifika Nyakerario was handed 10 years and his grandmother, Rael Mayaka, was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
Ms Nyaboke did not attend the court ruling where the trio was sentenced to prison. She has said, the way her son can’t see is the same way the three should not see the outside of the prison walls.
