Axed CBeebies presenter Sarah-Jane Honeywell says she is ‘constantly mum-shamed’ after being sacked from the channel over topless snap
Sarah-Jane Honeywell has admitted she is still ‘constantly mum-shamed’ after being sacked from CBeebies over a topless snap.
The former presenter, 49, took part a now infamous PETA shoot back in 2011 where she posed topless on a giant plate of food.
But the brazen move had a disastrous impact on her career, with Sarah-Jane revealing she was sacked from her job without warning.
Speaking in a new interview with The Sun, the TV personality explained how she still faces backlash and even experienced ‘uproar’ over a recent holiday photo.
Sarah-Jane said: ‘I am constantly mum-shamed, I’ve come to expect it. But I certainly wasn’t expecting such an uproar when I shared my snaps from our recent holiday to Spain.’

She said: ‘I had let my CBoobies out on a beach in La Manga and I posted a photo of myself topless on Instagram.
‘It was just the silhouette of my body and then another taken from behind – people were outraged. My comments section was flooded with strangers concerned about my ‘poor boys.’
It comes after Sarah-Jane revealed she was left homeless, suicidal and £100,000 in debt after posing for a nude photoshoot that ended her career in kids’ TV.
She told The Sun’s Fabulous magazine: ‘After that, all the doors were slammed in my face. I couldn’t get any auditions because people didn’t take me seriously and just passed me off as a children’s TV weirdo. Financially it was an absolute disaster.’
The presenter, who is married to Hollyoaks actor Ayden Callaghan, told how she ended up in £100,000 of debt.
The TV star landed a gig on CBeebies back in 2001 and while she loved the job, she was taken aback by the strict rules presenters had to follow.
Sarah-Jane, who was asked to take part in the topless shoot because she was a vegan, said stars were forbidden from saying anything crude or rude, even when off camera and with no children around.
She also once angered producers by getting a large fairy tattoo on her back which she didn’t think would be an issue because her back would never be visible on camera.

Sarah-Jane admitted she also lied about ever having taken illegal drugs when she was asked during a medical at the BBC.
The star had previously dabbled with cocaine and pills but feared being honest would cost her the job.
Sarah-Jane said she also struggled to get on with some of her behind the scenes colleagues and even recalled one incident where a co-worker told her she looked ‘old and ugly’ and that her hair was too long.
While she now works on BBC Radio Lincoln presenting a Sunday afternoon show, she still has a sour taste left in her mouth over her time with CBeebies and doesn’t let her sons watch the channel.
