Travelers in Sydney have expressed confusion about a ‘peculiar’ poster hanging at Green Square train station, with many saying they have no idea what it means.
The poster shows several species of tropical fish swimming in a coral reef, alongside the three-word slogan: ‘Trains. They help.’
A surprised Sydneysider shared a photo of the advert on Reddit and asked other train passengers: ‘What does this mean?’
Many Reddit users said they had no idea what it meant, while others had an idea of what it was trying to convey but felt the message was unclear.
However, a handful of Green Square regulars said the meaning of the poster was clear to them and they didn’t understand what all the fuss was about.

“Trains (are) better for the planet, and therefore better for marine life,” one Redditor wrote in the top-ranked answer to the question.
Although this correct response settled the argument, other commuters were unwilling to back down and insisted the poster was too vague.
“Nice idea, terrible copywriting,” one person wrote.

Another made light of the poster’s ambiguous meaning by joking: “Fish find trains useful for their daily commute.”
“When the train finally arrives, you’ll be crammed in like a sardine in a can,” another Reddit user added.
A similar joke read: ‘Fish travels by train every day. They are grateful and have sponsored a poster.’
