Aqua Australia tour: Barbie Girl lead singer vapes inside Sydney Airport after bizarre behaviour on stage during Perth concert

The singer of ’90s pop group Aqua was spotted puffing on a vape at the Sydney Airport food court on Tuesday following her bizarre behavior on stage during the band’s concert in Perth last week.

Lene Nystrøm, now 50, appeared to be trying to calm down after Thursday’s performance, breaking down in tears during the show.

Lene looked tired and was sitting alone enjoying her vape.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the terminal at Sydney Airport.

Lene was dressed for her flight and wore blue jeans, a matching jacket and a T-shirt.

The singer wore her dark hair up and wore designer glasses.

She completed her look with a bold red lipstick.

At one point, Lene was seen in deep conversation with a male traveling companion as they headed to their flight.

It comes after Lene raised concerns following Aqua’s performance in Perth last Thursday.

After abruptly leaving the show, she returned to the stage an hour later, crying and putting on pajamas.

Concertgoers described the show as ‘awkward’ and ‘terrible’ after a series of strange incidents left audiences confused.

Mix94.5 producer Shelby Brady talked about the performance on Pete & Kymba for Breakfast on Friday morning.

Brady said the show started wrong before the band had even taken the stage, with the audience seeing an embarrassing mistake on a stage screen.

“I knew they were off to a bad start when the screen behind them said ‘Hello Adelaide,’” she said.

While she described the first song, Cartoon Heroes, as having a “vibe,” the show continued to go downhill when Lene disappeared from the stage, saying the departure was due to a “sound problem.”

The onstage blunder comes as the group was forced to curtail their shows in Australia due to disappointing demand.

Aqua play their next show at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne on Wednesday evening.
