AOC’s NYC district slammed as ‘Third World’ as shocking video shows trash-covered streets overrun by migrants running ‘flea market’ and scantily-clad prostitutes brazenly soliciting men at ‘Market of Sweethearts’

The Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez neighborhood has been described as a Third World country after a video emerged showing trash-covered streets overrun by migrants.

Images taken by Queens resident Ramses Frias show two streets in the Corona, Jackson Heights and Elmhurst neighborhoods.

The video shows the area’s streets littered with trash as migrants set up flea markets to flog items of clothing.

Roosevelt Avenue has also become known as “the lovers’ market,” with viral videos showing alleged sex workers lining the area’s streets.

The footage shows Frias walking through the streets, shedding light on the conditions he compares to a ‘third world market’.

Speak with Fox newsFrias said: ‘Like most of my like-minded residents, we see this as a third world market.

“Basically all you see is clothes being thrown on the floor, stuff being stolen from donation bins or stolen from stores, and they’re just setting up shop outside of the physical stores.

‘They deprive these companies of business and don’t pay taxes. There are no consequences, they get a free pass.’

The images were taken on the edge of AOC’s 14th Congressional District and are often considered the most culturally diverse in Queens.

You’ll see vendors lining the streets with piles of clothes next to them, while others sell sneakers, toys, and other miscellaneous items.

At the end of the clip, a group of three people are seen with a stand covering a crosswalk with boxes covering the road.

New York City laws state that only licensed vendors may sell food or goods in public areas.

Frias shared the video on social media, adding: “This is an ongoing problem for this community and the lawlessness must be addressed immediately.

“Individuals cannot even reach any entrance to the 90th Street Station without going through a maze of vendors and prostitutes.

He told Fox: “They do what they want, they are open about it and not discreet.

“They’re lining up all over 90th Street for a pizza place, a 99 cent store, just trying to attract men.

New York police raided six establishments suspected of engaging in prostitution in the area, with Mayor Eric Adams in attendance.

Adams said at the time, “Sex trafficking is real… and we’re not going to stand idly by and pretend it’s not happening.”

Due to the circumstances, Frias is now running as a Republican for Assembly District 39 in an effort to clean up the streets.

Assemblymember Catalina Cruz currently holds the seat, and she told Fox that a group of officials are working on “safe solutions to quality of life issues.”

Calling for radical change, Frias says: ‘I’ve lived here all my life, I’ve seen the changes go from good, to bad to worse, and it’s now at the peak of worse, and I don’t want to move past that to go.’
