He means business.
Anthony Edwards sent a PSA to women interested in him after agreeing to a five-year, $260 million max contract extension with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
While in bed with his girlfriend, Jeanine Robel, the All-Star guard said she’s the “only one” who will be reaping the benefits of his massive payday.
“All you females who think you gonna come up off a n—- from signing a contract, she the only one,” Edwards said, before panning the camera to his Robel.
The 21-year-old then put the camera on his dog, and joked, “No, her.”
That’s when Robel said, “Boy, don’t lie.”
“She the only one that’s coming up,” Edwards continued. “[She’s] new to the table, so I’m a little green for her.
“Everybody else, the light is the same color as my damn jacket [red]… Feel me?”
The Timberwolves and Edwards agreed on a max extension on Monday — five years, $207 million, with a chance of the deal reaching $260 million, his agents Bill Duffy confirmed to The Associated Press.
His deal, which begins in the 2024-25 season, would reach the supermax level if he makes an All-NBA team.
Edwards — the first overall pick by Minnesota in the 2020 NBA Draft — signed with WME Sports on June 27, the agency announced.
He averaged 24.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.6 steals on 46 percent shooting this past season, including 37 percent from 3-point range.
The star swingman led the Timberwolves to two playoff berths in his first three seasons — and averaged 31.6 points in the 2023 postseason.
In his debut campaign, the University of Georgia product was named first-team All-Rookie, and in 2023, he was selected as an NBA All-Star.
Edwards turns 22 next month when he is scheduled to be part of the USA Basketball roster that will compete in the FIBA World Cup.
Edwards has already started his Hollywood career, making his acting debut with a supporting role opposite Adam Sandler in Netflix’s “Hustle.”
“I’ve been locked in to giving everything I have to be the best I can be on and off the court, and no one is better equipped to support me and my family through this journey than WME Sports,” Edwards said in a statement in June, according to Variety.
“I’m excited about all we will do in basketball, entertainment, business and philanthropy, and as I look at the legacies of other WME athletes, I know there is no limit to what’s possible.”
Under his new contract with WME, Edwards will work on new off-the-court ventures with his production company, Three Fifths Media, to produce documentaries, sports and competition shows and more.
Edwards launched Three Fifths Media in 2019 with his business manager Justin Holland.
