Anne Hathaway was spotted showing off her street style – and her political beliefs – as she headed out to film a segment on The View this Friday.

The 40-year-old’s outfit included a statement in support of the recent uprising in Iran that popularized the slogan Zan Zendegi Azadi (Woman Life Freedom).

Her T-shirt bore the name of Mahse Amini, a Kurdish woman who lost her life in Iranian police custody last year after being arrested and beaten for wearing tight pants and wearing a headscarf improperly.

The incident sparked a fierce backlash against the moral police – the Gasht-e-Ershad (Guidance Patrol) – and sparked months of civil unrest in Iran.

Last month there was another brief flurry of protests as critics of the regime marked the one-year anniversary of Mahsa’s death.

Later in the day, she was photographed on the Upper West Side with director Rebecca Miller. Anne looked effortlessly chic in a white T-shirt, oversized gray jeans and silver cowboy boots.

Ann, who celebrated her 40th birthday last year, tucked her shirt into a black leather pencil case that evoked memories of the 1960s.

Three days earlier, Ann donned a sparkly pink dress to attend a screening of her upcoming film She Came to Me in New York.

Peter Dinklage stars as a composer with a writer, Anne as his therapist-turned-wife and Marisa Tomei as a tugboat captain who has a one-night stand with him, leading to a burst of artistic inspiration.

She Came to Me was directed by Arthur Miller’s daughter Rebecca, whose filmography includes The Private Life of Pippa Lee.

Tuesday’s event fell amid a tumultuous SAG-AFTRA strike, during which union members were barred from attending premieres and screenings.

However, SAG-AFTRA worked out a temporary agreement that allowed the cast of this particular film to attend this week’s screening, Diversity reported.

One of the conditions of the interim agreement is that the producer of the film must work separately from the Alliance of Film and Television Producers.

Annie’s last sighting comes after she says Entertainment Tonight she would like to do another project with Meryl Streep, her co-star in The Devil Wears Prada.

The brilliant comedy is adapted from the novel by Lauren Weisberger, who previously worked as Anna Wintour’s assistant at Vogue.

With Meryl as a terrifyingly icy fashion editor and Ann as her muse, the film’s unspoken inspiration was obvious to all.

‘Nuclear Wintour’ skilfully assimilated the publicity from the film into her media image, to the extent that she even attended the premiere wearing Prada.

Years later, she told CNN that her former assistant “brought the spotlight to fashion in a way that, you know, you can look at it in a negative way or a positive way. I decided to look at it in a positive way. In a way, I think I should be grateful to her.’
