The “Bayou Barbie” shut down the red carpet at the 2023 ESPY Awards.
Star LSU forward Angel Reese made a red-carpet appearance with a stunning golden dress at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
Reese — who led the Lady Tigers to their first NCAA championship in program history after defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes in April — is a presenter and nominee at this year’s show.
The 21-year-old All-American is up against Hawkeyes point guard Caitlin Clark once again, as both collegiate stars are nominated for Best Breakthrough Athlete.
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and Seattle Mariners centerfielder Julio Rodríguez are also nominated in that category.
Reese’s big night at the ESPYs comes just two weeks after she was crowned Sportswoman of the Year at the 2023 BET Awards.
At the time, Reese shared on Twitter that she was unable to attend the show in person.
“Thank you BET!” she wrote. “So sad I couldn’t be there but I really appreciate this! This means a lot!”
Reese has been busy since returning from Mexico, where she helped Team USA take home the silver medal in the 2023 FIBA AmeriCup on Sunday.
Reese reflected on the journey with Team USA, writing on Twitter: “Such a blessing & honor to play with this team!
“Even though we fell short, I loved every moment of being able to represent my country! BACK TO WORK!”
Team USA fell to Brazil in Sunday’s championship game, 69-58, with Reese finishing the final contest with four points and six rebounds.
From there, the Lady Tigers star celebrated boyfriend Cam’Ron Fletcher’s 21st birthday Monday with a party at The Patio at Tastees in Tallahassee, Fla.
Both Reese and Fletcher hosted the event, according to promotional flyers they shared separately on their Instagram Stories.
Reese confirmed her relationship with Fletcher during an interview on the “1 Star Recruits” podcast in late June — revealing the couple has known each other for six years.
In a recent TikTok video captioned, “a basketball love story,” Reese explained the pair met as sophomores in high school and reunited six years later for a first date in Miami.
Reese, who made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut earlier this spring, had previously teased the romance on social media.
