Ali Wong’s estranged husband Justin Hakuta files for joint custody of their two daughters… as Beef star moves on with Bill Hader

Ali Wong’s estranged husband, Justin Hakuta, is asking for joint custody of their two daughters – just over a month after the Beef star filed for divorce.

Hakuta has filed for joint legal and physical custody of their daughters Nikki, six, and Mari, eight, according to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE on Tuesday.

Ali made the same request when she officially filed to end their marriage in December 2023.

As for child support, the outlet claims that Hakuta has not made an immediate request, but it was noted that he and Wong are working out their divorce in mediation.

In her Dec. 22 divorce filing, Wong — who is dating SNL alumnus Bill Hader — cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, TMZ Previously reported.

Their date of separation was listed as April 10, 2022, days before they publicly announced their split.

These documents also show that Ali and Justin are in mediation to settle spousal support and organize their assets.

It was reported that the two want to solve their problems on their own.

Ali noted that the couple had a prenup, and she wants it enforced in court.

The couple met at a friend’s wedding reception in 2010 and married in 2014 in San Francisco.

In her 2016 Baby Cobra special on Netflix, Ali explained that when she learned Justin was a Harvard student and Fulbright scholar, she played hard-to-get.

‘I was like, “Oh, my God, I’m going to trap his ass. I’m going to trap his ass!” And I initially tricked him by not kissing him until the fifth date, which is a very unusual move on my part. But I did it on purpose because I knew he was a catch,” she told a live audience.

In her book Dear Girls: Intimate Tales Untold Secrets and Advice for Living Your Best Life, Ali calls the marriage contract she signed before walking down the aisle one of the secrets to her success.

“My father always praised ‘the gift of fear,’” she explained. “And that prenup terrified me.

“Ultimately, being forced to sign that prenup was one of the greatest things that ever happened to me and my career.”

Shortly after her divorce, Ali dated actor Bill Hader for a few months. The former Saturday Night Live cast member had recently ended his relationship with Anna Kendrick.

Wong and Hader reportedly split not long after, but appeared to rekindle their romance when they kissed while walking in LA in April 2023.

Two days before the sighting, a representative of Bill confirmed this Page six that he and Ali were back together.
