AJ Styles reveals why WWE ‘isn’t the same’ under Triple H as it was with Vince McMahon in charge… as he heaps praise on new leadership after the former boss resigned following sex trafficking allegations

  • Triple H is widely praised for creating a better working environment
  • Styles praised his boss for caring about the development of wrestlers in WWE

AJ Styles has revealed that WWE under Triple H is incredibly different from Vince McMahon.

McMahon ruled the company since its founding several decades ago until his retirement in 2022 following sexual misconduct allegations, but returned and began wresting back control.

That was until September last year, when WWE and UFC merged under the umbrella company TKO, which had McMahon as executive chairman until he resigned in January amid sex trafficking allegations, which he has denied.

Now the show is run by former WWE star and McMahon’s son-in-law, Triple H – real name Paul Levesque – and reports have generally suggested that the company is a much better place to work.

“This is not the same WWE that Vince was in charge of,” he said. “I really believe Triple H looks at our talent and says, ‘Okay, let’s make them better or let’s find ways to bring out the best in them instead of showing off the worst.’

“A lot of those guys and girls get crushed when they get released from the WWE. I’ve never understood why we would want to do something like that instead of just saying, “Okay, let’s send them back to NXT, they just need a little more work,” or something like that.

“If you’re released, you’re going to be crushed, and I don’t want to see people ruining their lives because of a job. At the end of the day, it’s just a job, but still, it’s something they’ve worked at all their lives and when you’re told you’re not good enough, man, that sucks.

Under McMahon, there were frequent group releases in which stars lost their jobs, the latest in September.

When Triple H initially took over, he rehired a number of released stars, many of whom have gone on to flourish within the company.

Styles, meanwhile, is enjoying a feud with LA Knight – a star who has made leaps and bounds under Triple H – and the pair are set to face off at WrestleMania.
