The late actor Adan Canto was remembered by his wife Stephanie Ann Canto in an Instagram post shared on Tuesday.
The grieving widow shared an excerpt from the Book of Matthew from the New Testament of the Bible.
She paid tribute to the fallen actor following his death on Monday from appendiceal cancer, a rare condition which has seen a surprising increase in cases over the past two decades.
Canto was best known for roles in X-Men: Days Of Future Past and the series Designated Survivor, and his costars Halle Berry and Kiefer Sutherland both paid tribute to him on social media after news of his death broke.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal; but store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also,” Stephanie quoted from Matthew 6:19-21.

“Forever my darling Adan,” she ended her message on a more personal note. ‘See you soon.’
Canto’s death on Monday came as a surprise as the Mexican actor had kept his battle with cancer a secret.
He and Stephanie married in 2017.
The couple shared a son, Roman, three, and a daughter, Eve Josephine, one.
The lovebirds kept their romance on full display on social media with sweet posts celebrating their anniversaries.
“It just keeps getting better,” he wrote on Instagram as the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary in 2018.
“I’m so glad I found you,” he wrote to Stephanie.
In March 2020, as the novel coronavirus continued to spread around the world, he shared a sweet photo of himself cradling his wife’s burgeoning midriff ahead of the birth of their first child.
“I feel extremely humbled and honored to have received Family’s blessing,” he wrote at the time. “I thank God that my wife and I met in such an unlikely place and time. I thank him for her heart, mind and soul, who remind me daily of the man I strive to be. I thank him for the opportunity to raise a new soul from her and shape his mind with a solid foundation of honor, love, strength and understanding.”
Stephanie shared an excerpt from the book of Matthew and concluded with a personal note to her late husband: “Forever my darling Adan.” She ended her message on a more personal note. ‘See you soon’

But Canto remained silent on Instagram after June 2022.
His last post on the social media site was from Father’s Day that year, in which he shared a sweet photo of himself with his wife and two children.
‘Happy Father’s Day! I am blessed with mine,” he wrote.
In a message shared by his family on his page after his death, they lovingly described him as, “A man who never complained and inspired so many,” adding, “We love you forever, Adan .’
